Fossilized Shark Tooth
$0.99
Sharks are constantly losing and replacing teeth – some can shed up to 35,000 teeth in a lifetime. On average, sharks have 15 teeth in front that are in use, with 5 teeth waiting behind each to take their place if they fall out. Bull sharks are an exception to this, with 50 teeth in front that each have 7 waiting behind. Sharks typically lose at least one tooth per week. It takes around 10,000 years for a shark tooth to fossilize. The most commonly found shark teeth are from the last 66 million years, within the Cenozoic era.
*Please note these are sold individually. Since they are a natural product and unique they may vary in size, color, and shape.
