Tumbled Obsidian

Obsidian is unique due to its smooth, uniform volcanic glass texture and its beautiful glassy luster. It is formed by the rapid cooling of volcanic lava and it is extremely rich in silica. It is typically jet black and is slightly harder than glass. It has been used for thousands of years by people such as pre- Columbian Mesoamericans and Ancient Egyptians to make arrowheads and blades.
