Rough Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is a lightweight mineral with a bluish-green color. It is found throughout the Southwest U.S. and in other dry climates. It forms as opaque to translucent crusts or fillings in copper rich vein deposits. In its pure form, chrysocolla is soft and fragile and therefore not appropriate for use in jewelry.
